PBP Designation BadgeTMPAA, in pursuit of its mission to promote Best Practices in program administration, elevate the status of Program Business in the insurance industry, and recognize the specialized skill sets of Program Specialists, has partnered with The Institutes to provide the Program Business Professional™ (PBP) designation.

The PBP curriculum encompasses program-specific content and incorporates courses from the CPCU® designation. This comprehensive approach ensures a dynamic learning experience for professionals seeking advancement in Program Business, while also earning credit towards additional Institutes Designations.


The TMPAA is committed to fully subsidizing the coursework needed to attain the PBP for all Program Administrator members if completed by October 1, 2025. 

Terms of Reimbursement:

In order to get fully reimbursed for the cost of your PBP designation, the following terms apply:

  • Your organization must be a member, in good standing, with the Target Markets Program Administrators Association.
  • You must be a Program Administrator
  • You must successfully complete all designation courses.
  • Once you have obtained the designation, you may submit evidence of your completion, along with the related expenses for course material and exams to the TMPAA.
  • Eligible students will receive 100% reimbursement upon successfully attaining the PBP, paid from the TMPAA Institute charitable account.

Additional terms:

  • This offer is for the period of May 2024 to October 1, 2025.
  • Any waived courses and exams that you may have received as a result of a previous designation will not be reimbursed.

Target University was established in 2012 to promote Best Practices in program administration, enhance the status of Program Business in the insurance industry and recognize the specialized skill sets of Program Specialists. The University was developed through the efforts of the TMPAA Board and a Committee of TMPAA members who served as advisors on course development. Since it's inception, more than 200 CPL designations were awarded. In 2024, TMPAA discountinued the CPL designation and partnered with The Institutes to continue the original mission of Target University and enhance the Program Education offerings for members with the Program Business Professional (PBP) curriculum.
