Tiptree Inc-owned The Fortegra Group has appointed Eric Halter as senior vice president of business development and Bianca Hoshina as chief reinsurance buyer, marking two new additions to the global specialty insurer’s leadership team.

Both Halter and Hoshina will report to Mark Rattner, Fortegra's chief underwriting officer, insurance.

Halter brings over three decades of experience in the insurance and financial sectors to his new role. He most recently served as the managing director of AF Specialty, a part of AF Group. Prior to joining AF Specialty, Halter spent six years as president of Patriot Captive Management.

"This opportunity marks a significant milestone in my career; I am excited to leverage my extensive program experience alongside the talented team at Fortegra to reinforce their continued success in the specialty markets," said Halter.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Hoshina joins Fortegra after previously serving as the chief reinsurance officer at Centauri Insurance Specialty Company. Earlier in her career, Hoshina held various reinsurance roles at reinsurers such as Tokio Millennium, RenaissanceRe, and Montpelier Re.

Fortegra in November last year filed an S-1 registration document with the Securities and Exchange Commission, expressing a positive outlook for its growth prospects in the expansive MGA and E&S sectors.

The Florida-based insurer submitted the S-1 shortly after Tiptree announced that the specialty insurer would pursue an IPO.
