Arrowhead Launches E&S Program, Names Murray as President
IJ - May 20, 2021 - Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc. has launched a new excess and surplus lines program and named Bill Murray as its president.
The new E&S program operates as part of the National Programs division of Brown & Brown Inc., and initially will focus on excess casualty risks.
Tom Kussurelis, Arrowhead EVP and COO, said Arrowhead E&S is building a property and underwriting platform with a management team experienced in multiple E&S and specialty underwriting segments.
“Arrowhead E&S will benefit from National Programs’ scale and depth of expertise, including product development, actuarial, data and analytics, technology and distribution,” said Murray. “We’ll also tap into National Programs’ marketing, distribution, operations, compliance, finance and accounting services.”
Murray added the platform will enable Arrowhead to scale up quickly and offer product enhancements to achieve growth.
The Arrowhead E&S program is partnered with Obsidian, a program-fronting carrier with that a platform that supports managing general agents, managing general underwriters and program administrators with reinsurers looking to allocate their capital to high-quality primary layers.
Murray has more than 30 years of industry experience. His previous positions include general manager at Church Insurance Co. as well as senior roles at E&S and specialty carriers including Genstar, W.R. Berkley and HCC.
Rich Collins was named vice president of operations. Collins also has more than 30 years of industry experience, working at General Re (Genstar) and W.R. Berkley with startup initiatives. He has expertise in operations, forms and rates, and policy administration systems and implementation.
