Randy’s primary responsibility with Vanguard Specialty will be running our new nationwide non-standard LPL program that is launching Monday, December 7, 2020, and the soon-to-be launched excess LPL program.

Randy has over 30 years of experience in the professional liability industry. Prior to his tenure with StarStone, Randy held various management positions with Monitor Liability Managers, a WR Berkley company, including Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer.

To mark this transition, Founders Specialty will be rebranded to Vanguard Specialty, LLC. Vanguard Specialty’s Admitted LPL Program, Contractual Defense Protection program for A&Es and PT Pro program for lawyers, accountants, A&Es, consultants and other part-time professionals will continue in the same manner as before.

Vanguard Specialty is a Managing General Agent (MGA) and Program Manager for numerous specialized insurance programs in the professional liability insurance industry. Stephen van Wert began Vanguard Specialty in 2016 with the mission of bringing specialized niche solutions to the insurance world. Stephen is a former corporate attorney with 20 of years of experience in the professional liability insurance industry with a particular emphasis inthe lawyers professional liability space. Vanguard Specialty takes an innovative approach in developing and launching new products to serve the market while continually expanding into new states.  We represent several highly rated carriers in specialized niche products with the ability to customize policies to meet the needs of the insured.
