DiCapua has a demonstrated track record of building increasingly successful program and specialty businesses throughout his 40-year insurance career. DiCapua will work closely over the next few months with outgoing president Stephen J. Kelley, who will retire later this year.

Most recently, DiCapua founded a managing general agency, Newport General Agency, that was sold to AmWINS in 2010. He then served as the executive vice president and chief risk officer of the AmWINS Specialty Auto company, where he assisted with the consolidation of newly acquired companies, enhanced carrier and reinsurer relations and launched innovative mobile technology solutions. Prior to this, DiCapua was senior vice president of specialty programs at Clarendon Insurance Group and managed a P&C portfolio of more than $500 million in gross written premium. He spent his early career focused on building the non-standard auto businesses at Reliance National Risk Specialists and American International Group.

DiCapua has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Saint John’s University School of Risk Management, where he also earned Professional Certificates in Insurance Accounting and Reinsurance. He has a Master of Business Administration and Advanced Certificate in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University.
