The Challenge of Climate Change and CAT Events
PODCAST

RECORDED AT MID-YEAR MEETING

There is little debate that the recent trend of weather events indicates that our global climate is changing, and no industry will experience greater impact by the long-term consequences posed by this phenomenon than insurance.  It is also true that the insurance industry could play a key role in managing climate risk and encourage that disaster resilient strategies be implemented.

In this podcast, BMS Senior Meteorologist Andrew Siffert, describes the current and future impact of climate change on the insurance industry and a panel of his BMS colleagues discuss how the (re)insurance market is reacting to the CAT events in 2017- i.e. market shifts, market impact, and capital market reaction.

Financial journalist and New York Times best-selling author

Mr. Lewis prefers to deliver his presentation in an interview format to ensure he discusses areas of interest for each specific group. We have chosen to have two interviewers for Mr. Lewis.

His most recent work in The Undoing Project focuses on how individuals make decisions and all the factors that affect them. A frequent presenter at our events, retired Navy SEAL, Coleman Ruiz, has done a great deal of study regarding decision theory so we have asked him to join TMPAA President, Tony Campisi, for this interview.

--- COMING SOON ---

The human element accounts for the majority of all cyber breaches.  A small investment in employee training can have a big impact on your company’s cyber readiness.  However, studies show that less than half of all companies have a formal cyber security training program in place.

Target Markets has partnered with Insure Learn to provide association members with a best-in-class, comprehensive online cyber security awareness training program for their employees.  The program course curriculum includes 11 focused, bite-sized courses that range from 5 to 10 minutes seat time. CyberSecure will be available on a per user subscription model and includes management reporting, cyber alerts, and ongoing course updates.  A Simulated Phishing Platform will be added as a future enhancement along with recurrent testing.  Watch this short video to learn more
