Assessing Cyber Coverage in Program Business Wednesday, May 17 • 8:00am Moderator: John Weber - Sr. Associate Editor, AM Best Cybersecurity continues to dominate headlines with new breaches being discovered in a wide variety of businesses. Best Practice #16: Outside Advice & Consulting It is lonely at the top! No matter how good your team is, their input is not always objective or the best informed. First, many direct reports are reluctant to challenge the boss and secondly they may, like you, be so embedded in day to day operations that it is hard to see the forest for the trees. Worst case scenario, they may also have a personal agenda that can be at odds with the long term success of the organization. Click here for more best practices.

Leveraging Linked In for Business Development presented by Brynne Tillman, PeopleLinx Tuesday, May 16 • 10:30am The buyer's journey has changed. Buyers are now researchers, explorers, self-educators and collaborative decision makers–and it's significantly impacting the traditional sales process. The Know, Like and Trust mantra is now Attract, Teach and Engage. If you are not breaking through the noise, gaining access to stakeholders and positioning yourself as a thought leader and subject matter expert, your competition will. In this session you will learn to:
Monument Run

Best Practice #22: Surveys There are many types of surveys but in this article I would like to address Employee Surveys. It is useful, especially as your organization grows, to gauge the pulse of your staff. While all staff are nervous about speaking their minds, the rank and file are particularly risk adverse. Leading presented by Coleman Ruiz, May 15 • 2:30pm In a follow up to his TMPAA Summit leadership presentation, Coleman Ruiz, retired Navy SEAL Commander and Instructor, will explain his position that the leader, parent, coach, teacher, administrator and boss that fails to lead bravely and effectively is stealing from their team–stealing opportunity, stealing development, and stealing someone’s chance to improve. Attendees can expect to leave this workshop with information about what your teams really need from you and how to develop great followers who take responsibility, challenge, participate in transformation and take action.

Best Practice #1: Actuarial Program Administrators do not always appreciate the importance of understanding and possessing credible actuarial data. But the bottom line is that no reputable insurance company in today's world is going to provide paper for a program without a data set that provides confidence the carrier will obtain an acceptable Return on Equity. Best Practice #2: Underwriting Smart PAs will audit their own underwriters, which offers numerous advantages. First, it shows the carrier that you are serious about consistently following underwriting guidelines and documenting files to demonstrate that a competent underwriting thought process has been followed on each account. Such practices build credibility with the carrier and will often lead to increased authority. Click here for more best practices.
