To start the membership process, please review the information below and then click JOIN NOW to begin the Carrier application.

Please note: This process should only be initiated when all information is available. Leaving the online application window open and idle for a long duration may cause your page to time out and information to be lost.

Submission

Carrier applicant will complete online membership application and send two recommendation letters to the TMPAA Membership Development Specialist.

An automatic email will be sent to confirm your submission. This initial email is not acceptance into membership or an invoice for payment.

Review by Executive Director and Membership Manager

Applications will be screened for completeness, and will not be accepted for further processing with missing elements.

Submission to TMPAA Carrier Committee

The application and reference letters will be sent to members of the Carrier review committee. Committee members may request additional information or deny the application with stated reasons. If selected to move forward, a virtual interview will be scheduled with the committee.

Virtual Interview

Executive Director will schedule interviews with the Carrier review committee and applicant. The applicant should be prepared to answer the following items during the interview.

  • Confirmation that you grant Binding and Underwriting Authority to your Program Administrators
  • Do you grant exclusivity for a particular line of business / niche product?
  • Minimum program size you would consider?
  • What lines will you not consider?
  • How many programs do you currently have and lines of business?
  • Will you entertain the possibility of a start up program?
  • What do you look for in a program partner? If you became a member, would you actively encourage and refer your current administrators to join the association?
  • Would your company be willing to sponsor events and contribute other resources to the association (workshop/panel participation).
  • What are your goals for program business growth? Specifically, the number of programs and lines of business for the next 3 years, and the next 5 years.

At the conclusion of the interview, applicant will exit the call for committee discussion.

Membership Decision

One of four decisions will be made at the conclusion of the discussion:

  1. Application is approved.
  2. Application is approved with conditions.
  3. Decision is referred to the full board for discussion at a Mid-Year or Summit meeting.
  4. Application is denied. Decision for denial will be articulated to the Executive Director and Membership Specialist for correspondence to the applicant.

The decision will be relayed to the applicant within 24 hours.

New member applications will not be processed within 45 days of our two annual events (see meeting dates).
