SPARTA Insurance Announces Ralph Jones as Chief Executive Officer and Brian First as President and Chief Operating Officer

Hartford, Connecticut – February 25, 2013. SPARTA Insurance Holdings, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointments of Ralph E. Jones, III as Chief Executive Officer and Brian D. First as President and Chief Operating Officer effective today.

George L. Estes, III, who will continue to serve as the Company’s Executive Chairman, said “I am pleased to be able to pass the torch to these two highly talented executives. We have an experienced team in place dedicated to the program and alternative risk insurance market, and I look forward to working closely with Ralph and Brian as we continue to build enterprise value.”

Mr. Jones joined SPARTA as President in September 2012, after a successful career in the insurance industry, including Chubb and Arch Insurance. Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University. Mr. First was a member of the initial management team responsible for launching the company in 2007 and was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. Mr. First’s insurance career includes leading the alternative risk program units at Travelers and The Hartford. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Miami University.
