YORK, Pa. – Nov. 15, 2016 – Glatfelter Insurance Group is proud to announce that 13 employees have earned their Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation so far in 2016, taking the company total to over 40 CPCU’s on staff.
Ten percent of Glatfelter Insurance Group’s licensed associates have earned their CPCU designation, out pacing the insurance industry average of two percent, according to WorldHeritage.org. Earning this designation shows a high level of knowledge in property and casualty underwriting, a commitment to the profession and exhibits Glatfelter Insurance Group’s mission of employing highly skilled and dedicated associates to serve their customers.
Designees must complete eight college and graduate level classes and pass each of their examinations created by The Institutes. Topics such as insurance contracts and laws, company operations, risk management, finance and corporate structure are covered in the required courses. The process takes about four years to complete on average.
