BI – February 8, 2021 – BMS Inc. said Monday that it had named former Willis Re exec Robert Mercier as chief operating officer of BMS’s U.S. business.

Mr. Mercier, who will join BMS on Feb. 25, will be based in Philadelphia and report to Pete Chandler, CEO and president of BMS’s U.S. business.

Mr. Mercier was most recently operations director at Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson PLC.

He succeeds Kris Westall, who is staying with BMS in the new role of chief business optimization officer.

Mr. Chandler said in the statement that BMS would continue to invest in its reinsurance business in 2021 and beyond, “with a particular focus on all things digital, analytics and data.”
