BI – July 12, 2023 – Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. Tuesday appointed Frank Romeo, a former American International Group Inc. executive and marine specialist, to lead its entry into the U.S. marine cargo insurance market.

As head of U.S. marine cargo, Mr. Romeo will build out the program, which is due to launch in the second half of the year, initially targeting transit, stock throughput and excess stock exposure risks.

Based in New York, Mr. Romeo reports to Helen Steadman, head of marine cargo, global markets.

Mr. Romeo previously served as senior marine underwriting specialist and team lead at AIG.
