Tower Program Insurance Services, Inc. has developed a national program for the tower construction industry and has joined All Risks, Ltd. effective July 31, 2015. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Patrick Shea and Scott Hermesmeyer, founders of Tower Program Insurance Services, Inc., have joined the National Specialty Programs unit of All Risks as Directors of the National Tower Construction Program, while continuing to operate from Austin. Patrick and Scott will run the day-to-day operations while working to expand the array of products to this booming industry. They will be responsible for marketing and underwriting this national program, focusing on tower erection, maintenance and service companies; targeting telecom, water storage and wind energy construction industries. Both Patrick and Scott have specific expertise in catastrophic claims and loss mitigation. Coverages include Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Umbrella. Additionally, Auto, Installation Floaters, and Professional Liability may be available. WC can be written monoline, tailored to the needs of the individual account. The minimum premium is $50,000 written through an admitted A.M. Best A XV rated carrier. Submission requirements include an ACORD form, supplemental application, five years of currently valued loss runs, five years of payroll and revenue, NCCI Mod worksheets, current year-end financials, copy of the subcontractor agreement (if quoting the GL), as well as premium and loss summary, if available.
Previously, Patrick and Scott were the owners and directors of Tower Program Insurance Services, Inc. They have been in the insurance industry on the retail side for over 25 years, developing the first tower erection insurance program in 1996. With over $10 million in written premium, Tower Program Insurance Services, Inc. was the largest writer of tower erectors in the U.S. Patrick and Scott are active members of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), a non-profit trade association for the tower erection industry (visit natehome.com); National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA), a non-profit assessment and certification organization that is being created as the governance arm of the Task Force’s National Wireless Skills-Based Training Standard (visit nws-a.org); and WirelessEstimator.com, a news site dedicated to industry professionals who design, develop, construct, and maintain communication towers and other wireless structures.
