Guest Speaker: Scott Whitaker, Perr&Knight
Scott Whitaker is a Principal & Director of the Product Design and Compliance Assessments practice group with Perr&Knight. In this position, he is responsible for practice area strategy, management and oversight of consulting engagements including Product Design consulting for Property & Casualty, Accident/Health and Life products as well as Compliance & Operational Assessment/Training (“COAT”) services. Under Scott’s leadership, Perr&Knight’s Product Design consultants provide a wide range of services including competitor forms comparisons, form content reviews, product development, forms regulatory compliance reviews, form filings, objection response support and regulatory research. Leveraging his extensive experience, Scott personally serves as project lead for Perr&Knight’s COAT engagements including market conduct and financial exam readiness, exam management, mock exams, operational compliance testing and gap analysis.
Scott joined Perr&Knight in 2020 with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including over 25 years at Nationwide Insurance. Just prior to joining Perr&Knight, he was the Regulatory Compliance Manager and Assistant Secretary at EMC Insurance Companies. He also worked at Marsh/Mercer as an Operations Manager for Life and Health Employee Benefits. Scott’s experience spans agency, claims, compliance, fiduciary, licensing, operations, and underwriting.
Scott’s expertise and professionalism is evidenced through his current role as Director on the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society (“IRES”) Foundation’s Board and involvement with several committees. He is frequently requested to speak at industry webinars and conferences. Scott previously held board and committee positions with the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (“AICP”) Board of Directors. Scott holds his Market Conduct Management (“MCM”) designation and attended Wright State University where he studied Business Administration.
