Guest Speaker: Tandeka Nomvete, Ryan Specialty![]() Tandeka Nomvete is a graduate of Georgia State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance with a minor in Actuarial Science in 2013. She began her career at Marsh as an Associate Account Executive, where she discovered her passion for developing and supporting the next generation of Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) professionals. Her commitment to education and mentorship deepened during her tenure as National Director of Chapter Engagement at Gamma Iota Sigma, a student association dedicated to cultivating future RMI industry talent. Tandeka later served as Director of College Recruiting at Questpro Consultants, where she led early-career recruiting initiatives, and subsequently as Director of External Engagement at the Spencer Educational Foundation, a premier nonprofit org advancing education within the RMI industry. In September 2025, Tandeka joined Ryan Specialty as Global Head of Early Talent Recruitment and University Relations. In this role, she oversees the firm’s global strategy for attracting, developing, and retaining emerging talent. Ryan Specialty is an award-winning insurance services organization with more than 100 offices worldwide and over 6,000 full-time employees. A recognized leader and advocate for future RMI professionals, Tandeka has received numerous industry honors, including the 2025 LINC Award from the NAAIA Atlanta Chapter, the 2024 Elite Women Award from Insurance Business America, Georgia State University’s 2023 40 Under 40, the 2022 RISE Award (35 Under 35), the 2022 Rising Star Award, and the 2021 Emerging Leader Award. Tandeka actively contributes to the industry through board and advisory service, including the WSIA Internship Committee; RIMS Rising Risk Professionals Advisory Council; RIMS DEI Advisory Council; Morgan State University Actuarial Science Advisory Board; Georgia State University School of Risk Science Advisory Board; Young Risk Professionals of Georgia Board; and the LAAIA Atlanta Chapter Board. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband. | Guest Speaker: Marianne Villanueva, Ryan Specialty![]() Marianne Villanueva graduated in December 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of North Texas in Denton. During her time at UNT, she was actively involved in Gamma Iota Sigma, where she served as Event Coordinator during the Spring 2025 semester and President in Fall 2025. Throughout her academic journey, Marianne was recognized for her dedication to the risk management and insurance industry as a recipient of the Insurance Council of Texas Scholarship, the TRIPPS Award, and the DFW RIMS Scholarship. Marianne began her career journey with Ryan Specialty as an intern in the summer of 2025, gaining valuable hands-on experience while balancing her final semester of college as a part-time employee. After graduation, she transitioned into a full-time role and now works as a Risk Analyst at USAssure E&S. Outside of work, Marianne enjoys staying active through workouts and spending time outdoors walking her dogs. |
