April 19, 2021 – Gerald Chiddick has been named Head of Real Estate, Retail and Hospitality, U.S. Middle Market, for Zurich North America.

As a member of the Industry Practices leadership team, Chiddick will be responsible for developing and executing a business plan focused on building Zurich’s real estate, retail and hospitality industry specialization and underwriting expertise. He will report to John Mizzi, Head of Industry Practices, U.S. Middle Market.

“Gerald is a seasoned insurance executive with a deep underwriting background and a proven track record of building profitable business segments,” Mizzi said.

Chiddick rejoins Zurich from Amerisure Insurance, where he most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and held leadership roles in product and business development. From 1996 to 2008, he held various leadership roles at Zurich, including Senior Marketing Officer for Small Business, Vice President of Sales & Distribution for Commercial Markets, Northeast Regional Executive, Vice President of e-Business Services for Zurich Middle Markets, Vice President of Middle Market International and Territory Manger for Zurich Global Express. He worked at Chubb before coming to Zurich.

Chiddick earned a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, New York, and a Zurich Executive Education Certificate from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He holds a Chartered Insurance Operations Professional (CIOP) designation and serves on the board of the National Workers Compensation Reinsurance Association (NWCRA). He is a board member of Walsh College – Michigan and Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan.
