Looking for CE Credits ?
 
The Association is providing a CE Credit Course at the Mid Year Meeting.  The "Leadership and Ethics" course is being filed in all 50 States for 2 credits.  Make arrangements to attend on Wednesday 4-14-10 at 10:00 AM.

Byron Way named TMPAA Leadership 2.0 Chairperson
 
L. Byron Way, President and COO of Bunker Hill Insurance Agency, has been selected as Chairperson of the Target Markets Program Administrators Association's Leadership 2.0 group.  The Leadership 2.0 group is comprised of Program Administrators under age 40.
 
 “Target Markets is looking to cultivate the young talent in our Association to help keep program business a strong industry segment for many years to come”, said Mr. Way.  “Our plan is to hold unique networking and educational events at the Association's two annual meetings for members who are currently under 40.  In addition to creating a network of young program specialists to explore program opportunities, we are interested in becoming influential as an advisory body for the TMPAA Board as they continue to build the Association”.
 
William Kronenberg, TMPAA President said, “The Leadership 2.0 initiative is important to the Association to stay relevant, create the next generation of Program Business leaders, and utilize the energy and ideas produced by this group”.  The TMPAA Board is very happy to support their growth in any way possible.  We have full confidence that Byron Way and his co-chairs, John Paulk lll (Britt/Paulk Insurance) and Brian Norman (Norman Spencer Insurance) will provide the leadership needed to energize our younger members”.
 
The TMPAA Leadership 2.0 Group’s next event is scheduled for Monday April 12, 2010 at the Association's Mid Year Meeting in Baltimore.

The presentation, “Developing Your Idea Into a Profitable Program” will be provided by TMPAA Board Member, David Springer, President of NIP Programs.

TMPAA to Develop Captive for Members E&O Coverage
 
 
The Target Markets Program Administrators Association announced the development of an Errors and Omissions Vehicle designed specifically for its Program Specialist members.  The plan for a Target Markets Captive will be outlined at Mid Year Meeting. 
 
“In today’s market you have to fight for every commission dollar and watch every expense”, said Glenn Clark, TMPAA board member and past president.  The TMPAA is exploring how the association can help our members purchase E&O more efficiently, while simultaneously providing the best defense counsel and loss control in the industry.  All designed specifically for Program Administrators”.
 
The TMPAA meeting agenda includes a special workshop to outline the specific options available to members with this new facility.  The Target Markets Captive  will respond to current market conditions with tailored coverage that provides members with a long-term solution for their professional liability exposures.
 
“Attendees can expect to hear details regarding how to join, the covers planned, the risk management services to be offered and the economic benefits of the facility” stated Tracey Carragher CEO of Breckenridge Insurance Services.  “Our plan is to generate active participation from meeting attendees that shapes how this new facility will serve the members of the TMPAA, and respond to their particular needs”. 
 
Breckenridge is a TMPAA Strategic Partner responsible for the development of this Association initiative.
      
   

The TMPAA to Provide
Solutions for managing your Agency Human Resources / Benefits Responsibilities
Focusing on your core program insurance business is only one aspect of running a successful agency. Managing Human Resources, Payroll, Employee Benefits and Risk Management, is the other critical component of any successful business strategy.
 

Attendees at this year Mid Year Meeting will have the opportunity of attending a special workshop dedicated to this issue.  Information will be provided about how one program administrator  found a solution to managing the human resources side of his business  by outsourcing these functions and directing more attention and energy on the on revenue-generating task to grow his business.
